Star Lane Vineyard, Beechworth Wine Region, Victoria
Nestled at the foothills of the Victorian Alps near Beechworth, Star Lane Vineyard is defined by its striking natural landscape and thriving ecosystem. Our estate vineyard produces premium cool-climate wines that reflect the purity, elevation and unique soils of this renowned Australian wine region.
Our Story
The history of Star Lane began in 1997, when the first vines were planted on this remarkable site. In October 2025 Star Lane entered its next chapter led by new owners Toni Pla Bou and Leonie Martino. Toni and Leonie are committed to sympathetically nurturing the vineyard and cultivating their own wine making style.
Toni brings more than 25 years of winemaking experience across Australia and France. His philosophy is simple: wine should express the place and time of its making. At Star Lane, that philosophy finds its ideal home.
Set at 425 metres above sea level, the vineyard benefits from an alpine climate, long sunlit days, cool mountain evenings, and ancient glacial soils. The result is fruit of natural balance, clarity and character - wines with an identity as individual as the people who drink them.
Toni and Leonie warmly invite you to follow their journey. Our Cellar Door is undergoing refurbishment but, in the meantime, you are welcome to book an appointment to visit our beautiful vineyard and sample our wines.
Beechworth Terroir & Elevation
Our vines are planted on distinctive yellow and red loams over mudstone. These well-draining soils contribute structure, minerality and quiet power to our wines.
The elevation of the Beechworth wine region means that Star Lane can take advantage of its long, slow ripening season, ideal for premium wine production. Warm daytime temperatures promote flavour development, while cool alpine nights preserve natural acidity, freshness and aromatic intensity.
We carefully balance yields to match each vine’s natural capacity, cropping fruit to ensure concentration, depth and varietal clarity - all essential elements of high-quality cool-climate wines.
When exceptional fruit is grown in the vineyard, winemaking becomes an act of stewardship rather than intervention.
